Sukkot

Saturday night at sundown was the beginning of Sukkot, or the Feast of Tabernacles. It is a 7 day Jewish holiday that is a celebration of the harvest and of the 40 years the Hebrews spent in the wilderness. As part of the festival, they are required to eat all major meals and sleep in the sukkah. It has been very interesting to learn more about the Jewish culture as we live among so many. Here are a couple of pictures of the sukkahs around our house and they are all over the neighborhood.
